The Cemetery and Surroundings
Before deciding which stone to choose
give some thought to the surroundings. e.g. Porous Stones, like
Marble, are less suitable than Non-Porous Granite Stones in very damp
areas as Marble can stain.
Look around at other Memorials close by and see
how they have weathered.
Do you want your Memorial to blend in discreetly
with others or do you want a striking alternative.
Choice of Memorial Stone
Popular choices of Stones are Granite, Marble and
York Stone.
Will you want to add to the Inscription at a
later date? If so, then we offer book style Memorials which may be
suitable.
Opposite are only a few examples of the
hundreds of Memorial Stones on Offer. E.G. The Granite range comes in
Dense Blacks, Midnight Blues, Speckled Greys, Greens and Rustic Reds
but to name a few. If you cannot see what you want
just ask us.
If you choose a Kerb Stone with
chippings these too should harmonise the Memorial. Chippings come in
a range of colours to suit all Memorials.

Emblems / Designs
If you decide on an emblem, think about
whether you want something personal to your loved. We can
arrange for special designs to be embossed if you cannot see
anything you like from our website, give us a call as we have
hundreds more to choose from. If you still cannot find that special
one we can arrange for this to be specially carved for you.
Where would you like the Emblem to be
placed. Think about the colour, size and
positioning. Would you like it placed in a corner, at the center
or side. Does it overpower your message or sit alongside it
to enhance your Message.
Did your loved one have a favorite colour, flower,
sport or item- perhaps you may want to incorporate this.

Style of Lettering and
finish
Your choice of lettering style and
colour should enhance and be in keeping with the Memorial
Stone. e.g. Light Granite with Black lettering can be very
striking.
Do you want Capitals throughout or
interchange to enhance a particular message.
Is there a special Typeface you want. e.g.
Blackadder
IC
Roman
Script
Victorian
Letters
There is a choice of colours.
They can enhance your Inscription if chosen in
the same colour or a complimentary colour. Gold lettering is very striking
on All Polished Black Granite.
Inscription
Now that you have decided on your Memorial Stone
you need to think about your Inscription.
It is important that your message reflects what
you want to say so we have dedicated a whole page with sample Inscriptions
giving you inspiration for your chosen words.

Very important as you need to be certain that you have it right.
Don't forget - You can mix and match any Stone, Shape,
